This is #4 in a series I'm experimenting with.

Acrylic reduction technique using isopropal alcohol to "melt" multiple layers of paint before the paint is then scrapped off. I've been applying textured collage materials to the pieces as part of their first few layers with good results.

The first was done on a small scrap of wood, the next two on larger (18"x36") sheets of plexiglass and this was done on heavy watercolor paper to see if a much larger-scale piece (4'x4' maybe, or larger) could be made that would be lightweight enough to hang. The paper responded beautifully and I'm thrilled that this 4th piece was such a successful experiment.

The surface has been protected with buffed wax. I call it "Green Furnace" because it looks to me as if you're peering through the walls of an old furnace into the fire beyond.

Love the depth and texture you are getting from this technique. The concept of the furnace is brilliant!
Thanks... this technique has been particularly engrossing to do and I've had to force myself to move on to other things hehe.
